The Shoah Memorial, Paris

The Shoah Memorial opened in January 2005 in Paris. This new institution is a bridge between women and men who suffered the Holocaust and those who have not experienced, either directly or through the mediation of their parents, that historical period. Enrolled in the continuity of Jewish memory, the Shoah Memorial opens a new stage in the transmission of the Holocaust memory and education, thanks to direct witnesses of the extermination of European Jews.

Besides the museum, it has a Contemporary Jewish Documentation Center founded during the World War II by Isaac Schneerson and Leon Poliakov to gather documentary evidence of the destruction of European Jews. Nowadays researchers can consult a rich background file.
